How This Tier List Was Built
We compared the Pocket Tactics tier list (updated August 5, 2026) with the Mobile Matters list (published August 11, 2026). Both rank heroes by class, and we list a hero as S-tier below only when both sources put it there. Where they disagree, we say so.
Tier lists are a snapshot. Epic Seven's balance patches change heroes every few weeks, and both sources warn that their rankings move with updates. Use this page to decide who to build first, not as a permanent ranking.
S-Tier Heroes Both Lists Agree On
These heroes are S-tier in both lists. Knights and Warriors anchor most teams, while Mages, Rangers and Thieves provide the damage. Several of them, such as Arbiter Vildred and Adventurer Ras, can be earned for free.

- Warrior: Apocalypse Ravi, Straze, Rimuru, Sigret, Mediator Kawerik, Rem, Choux, Luna
- Mage: Specter Tenebria, Vivian, Kawerik, Challenger Dominiel, Researcher Carrot
- Ranger: Landy, Seaside Bellona, Flan, Iseria, Operator Sigret
- Thief: Arbiter Vildred, Violet, Kise, Celine, Haste, Vildred, Cidd
- Soul Weaver: Roana, Blaze Dingo, Diene, Maid Chloe, Tay
Why the Top Heroes Rank So High
Mobile Matters explains several picks. Apocalypse Ravi scales Attack from HP and is hard to kill, Choux protects allies and counterattacks, and Charlotte gains Attack when hit. Adventurer Ras is a consistent attacker who can grant himself and an ally immunity.
On the damage side, Landy is an AoE damage dealer that works around PvP counters and Seaside Bellona brings an AoE defense break. Specter Tenebria stuns, poisons and cannot be targeted, and Vivian is strong in both PvP and PvE. Mercedes is free and has strong AoE skills.
Soul Weavers: Where the Lists Disagree
Soul Weavers show the biggest split. Mobile Matters puts Tamarinne and Emilia in S tier, while Pocket Tactics rates them A and adds Ruele of Light and Fenne to S. Both agree on Roana, Blaze Dingo, Diene, Maid Chloe and Tay.
In practice, Tamarinne is the best free PvE healer and the usual Wyvern Hunt pick, while Ruele of Light is a top PvP reviver and a safe choice from the free Moonlight selector. Destina is valued in PvP for cleansing, healing and reviving.
Newer Heroes Shaping the Meta
Older tier lists miss recent releases. Creator Envy's September 2026 Moonlight tier list ranks Lisette in SS tier: her third skill returns allies to their battle-start state, and defeated allies come back as crystals. Valky's 2026 PvP list says Lady of the Scales has the highest RTA win rate among top units.
Smilegate's own signal is the global ban list. In the October 29, 2026 update, the new Bunny Girl Mafia Yufine and her artifact A Boss's Dignity were set as Global Banned in World Arena Fall 2026 and the E7WC 2026 Knockout Stage, which is how Smilegate handles heroes expected to dominate. PvP and PvE Rankings Differ
Neither general list splits PvE from PvP, but the modes reward different heroes. For PvE, the core free picks are Furious, Tamarinne, Mercedes and Arbiter Vildred, which carry Wyvern Hunt farming. For PvP, creators rank heroes by how often they are picked or banned in RTA.
Valky's E7WC 2026 list groups heroes into tiers, with Tier 0 meaning must-haves seen on every Arena and Guild War defense. He names Zio as core to speed strategies and Ruele of Light as core to turn-two play. For live pick and win rates at Champion rank and above, see our RTA guide.
How to Use a Tier List Well
Build for the content you actually play. A hero that tops PvP lists may do little in Wyvern Hunt, while free PvE staples like Furious rarely appear in RTA. Start with a working Hunt team, then invest in PvP heroes.
Check dates before trusting any ranking. Balance patches buff and nerf heroes regularly, and creator Envy delayed his September 2026 list until after a patch for that reason. Combine opinion lists with live pick and win rates from our match history guide for the full picture.
