Epic Seven Characters: Classes, Elements and the Newest Heroes

Epic Seven characters, called heroes, come in 3-star to 5-star rarities, six classes and five elements. The fan database epic7db lists about 380 hero entries as of October 31, 2026, though Smilegate publishes no official total. The newest heroes include Lisette, Uncharted Pioneer Politis, the Chaos Zero Nightmare collab units, Bunny Girl Great Detective Moro and Bunny Girl Mafia Yufine.

The Six Hero Classes

Every hero belongs to one class, and each class has a typical job. Knights tank and protect, Warriors are bruisers, and Thieves are fast damage dealers. Rangers lean on critical hits, Mages deliver burst damage, and Soul Weavers heal and support.

Classes also matter for gear and artifacts, since many artifacts are class-exclusive. For example, the new artifact A Boss's Dignity is Knight-only. Our builds guide explains how each role is geared.

Elements and Elemental Advantage

There are five elements. Fire beats Earth, Earth beats Ice and Ice beats Fire, while Light and Dark counter each other and are neutral against the triangle. Attacking with elemental advantage adds bonus damage, which community calculators model as a 1.1 multiplier.

Elements shape team building in every mode. In Ancient Inheritance, guide creator Tristen Wulf advises picking a single element so your guild levels it quickly. The game's AI in Arena also targets elemental advantage first.

Rarity, Moonlight Heroes and Specialty Change

Heroes start at 3, 4 or 5 stars and can all be promoted to 6 stars with Spirit Blooms. Moonlight heroes are the Light and Dark versions of characters and come from Mystic Summons, Galaxy Coin shops or selectors such as the free Moonlight Blessing. Fire, Ice and Earth heroes can imprint their Light and Dark versions.

Some 3-star heroes become far stronger through Specialty Change, such as Adventurer Ras, who is useful in both PvE and PvP. Our 6-star guide covers promotion and leveling.

New Heroes from the 8th Anniversary

The 8th anniversary update in August 2026 introduced Lisette, a Moonlight Light Soul Weaver who is a fragment of the goddess Diche. She starts battle with four Divinity stacks that revive fallen allies, and her third skill can trigger Time Reversal, returning allies to their state at the start of battle. Acolyte of the End Kayron also joined.

Uncharted Pioneer Politis, a 5-star Ice Ranger with high HP and Speed, arrived on September 3, 2026. Her missions change with her row: in the front she buffs ally Attack by 10%, in the back ally max HP by 10%, and completing a mission grants an extra turn. Her artifact is Light and Darkness.

Collaboration and Bunny Girl Heroes

The Chaos Zero Nightmare collaboration began in September 2026. It added Renoa as a free Moonlight hero during the event, plus Haru and Mei Lin through limited summons. Mei Lin's limited banner ran from October 8 to October 28, 2026.

The October 29, 2026 update added Bunny Girl Great Detective Moro to Mystic Summon until November 19. Bunny Girl Mafia Yufine, an Ice Knight who protects allies with Fighting Spirit and deals Defense Penetration damage, gets a Covenant banner from November 5 to 26. Collecting all five Bunny Girl heroes and skins rewards Self-Proclaimed Detective Toby.

How to Get Heroes

Covenant Summons use Covenant Bookmarks and Skystones, Mystic Summons use Mystic Medals for Moonlight heroes, and limited banners feature specific units. Since December 2025, the Covenant Wish List lets you choose which 5-star heroes and artifacts can appear. Covenant and Galaxy Coin shops also rotate heroes monthly.

Many strong heroes are free. Connections and story missions give Furious, Tamarinne and Commander Lorina, and Milestone of Radiance gives Charles. Check the tier list to decide who to build and the next banner before saving pulls.

Covenant and Galaxy Coin Shops

If you keep missing a hero, the coin shops are a reliable alternative. From November 1, 2026, each shop offers five heroes a month instead of three. The Covenant Coin Shop sells Fenne, Abigail, Ray, Destina and Violet for 64 Covenant Coins each, once per month.

The Galaxy Coin Shop sells Moonlight heroes for 40 Galaxy Coins each: Witch of the Mere Tenebria, Abyssal Yufine, Eternal Wanderer Ludwig, Dragon King Sharun and Silver Blade Aramintha. Owners can also buy Memory Imprint Ingredient Selection Chests with Galaxy Coins.
