Pick a Server and Start the Story
Servers differ only in population and reset time, so most guide creators recommend Global because it has the most players. World Arena matches you against every server, but guilds require you to be on the same server as your friends. You can play on mobile, on the STOVE PC client or on Steam, and since October 29, 2026 Steam also offers the new Foundry server.
Push the Episode story first and three-star each stage the first time you clear it. The story unlocks most systems and pays out early resources, and harder stages give better rewards. Hideout Gacha's beginner guide also points out that reaching the 6th World Episode, Chapter 2 unlocks the free Moonlight Blessing and Milestone of Radiance.
Build a Free Wyvern 13 Team
Your main early goal is clearing Wyvern 13, the Hunt that drops Speed, Hit, Critical and Immunity gear sets. A working Wyvern team gears the rest of your roster, and failed Hunt runs cost no energy. Several 2026 guides note that almost every hero in the standard Wyvern team is free.
Furious comes from Episode 2, Chapter 3 and is the core Wyvern debuffer. Tamarinne (Episode 2, Chapter 8) is the best free PvE healer, while Mercedes, Fenne or Sigret supply damage. Once the team clears reliably, use Background Battling to replay your best run, even while offline, as added in the 8th anniversary update.

Spend Skystones, Leif and Molagora Wisely
Spend most Skystones in the Secret Shop: Hideout Gacha estimates about 70 Skystones per Covenant summon there, versus 95 when buying directly. Save Covenant Bookmarks for featured banners and save Leif, the energy refill, for double-drop events. Never spend Skystones on pet tickets or to open the Spirit Altar.
Molagora upgrades skills, so use it only on heroes you will keep using. Keep at least one copy of every 3-star or higher hero, keep every 5-star artifact, and check whether a hero has a Moonlight version before imprinting it. Level heroes with Penguins only; our 6-star guide explains promotion.
What Unlocks at Each Account Rank
Content opens as your account rank rises, so you do not need to rush every mode on day one. Join an active guild as soon as guilds unlock, because some free hero missions and daily rewards depend on it. World Arena, the real-time PvP mode, opens at Rank 60.

Free Heroes and the Moonlight Blessing
Connections and events give strong free heroes, including Adventurer Ras through Specialty Change, Commander Lorina, Camilla, Iseria and Free Spirit Tieria. The Moonlight Blessing lets you pick a free Moonlight 5-star, with Arbiter Vildred suggested for AoE farming and Ruele of Light for PvP. You can swap your pick once, so do not claim the final unit until you are sure.
Milestone of Radiance rewards steady play. The October 29, 2026 update changed its Dawning Trajectory Stage 5 reward to a 5-star Moonlight Hero Selector, raised the Essence of Radiance cap to 30,000, and added a Path of Heir mission tracker to the lobby.
Starting Fresh on the Steam Foundry Server
The Foundry server opened with the Steam launch on October 29, 2026, giving everyone a fresh start. From then until December 31, 2026, Starter Support adds 30% Hero EXP, Gold and Account EXP, double Spirit Altar runes and double Arena Conquest Points. Reaching Rank 70 grants a limited Luna with a skin and 15 Experienced Penguins.
Foundry players also receive 20 free Covenant Summons daily, up to 1,260, plus a login mail with 60 Epic Penguins and 80 Epic Spirit Blooms. Draft Arena is open now, Guild War follows on November 19 and World Arena on December 10. See our Steam guide for account transfer details.
Common Beginner Mistakes to Avoid
Do not level gear you will replace soon. Leveling necklaces and rings is especially expensive, so keep early pieces cheap and save Gold for Speed-set gear from Wyvern. Hideout Gacha also warns against crafting level 85 gear until the Steel Workshop is maxed.
Do not skip the guild. Guild aid, the World Boss and Guild War give a large share of free currency, and Tamarinne's missions need a guild. Finally, do not burn Leif outside double-drop events, and claim free event heroes before they leave. Our dailies checklist keeps all of this in one routine.
