How Promotion Works Now

A hero's level cap is ten times its star grade, so a 6-star hero can reach level 60. Promotion raises the cap by 10 levels each time. Current guides from Hideout Gacha and Gacha.gg agree that promotion uses Spirit Blooms in Lesser, Greater and Epic grades, plus Gold.

Blooms stack upward: five Lesser Spirit Blooms make one Greater, and five Greater make one Epic, according to Gacha.gg. The final step to 6 stars uses Epic Spirit Blooms and the largest Gold cost. Always check the exact cost on your promotion screen, since numbers can change with updates.

Ignore Old Fodder Guides

Older guides describe feeding dozens of 3-star and 4-star heroes into a unit to promote it. One popular 2023 video on the topic now says in its own title that its ratios have changed. Treat fodder counts from those guides as outdated.

One idea from older guides still holds: duplicate and unwanted low-star heroes are better recycled than kept. Hideout Gacha's beginner guide recommends keeping at least one copy of every 3-star or higher hero for collection and reputation quests, and only recycling true spares.

Step-by-Step: Taking a Hero to 6 Stars

The routine is the same at every grade. Level the hero, promote it, then level it again until it reaches level 60 at 6 stars. Awaken it along the way with runes from the Spirit Altar, because awakening adds stats and is part of many free hero missions.

• Promote with the required Spirit Blooms and Gold
• Repeat each grade until the hero is 6-star, level 60
• Awaken with Spirit Altar runes for extra stats
• Spend Molagora on skills only for heroes you will keep

Farm Penguins and Blooms Every Day

Penguins give large amounts of hero EXP and are the fastest way to level, so Hideout Gacha advises leveling with Penguins only. Both Penguins and Spirit Blooms come from the Forest of Souls in Sanctuary, so collect it daily and upgrade it. Guild aid is another source: many guilds ask members to request Spirit Blooms.

Gold is the other bottleneck, because promotion, gear enhancement and almost everything else uses it. Farm it consistently and avoid wasting it on gear you will not keep. Our daily checklist covers the routine.

Use Events to Speed It Up

Events are the real shortcut. On the Steam Foundry server, Starter Support adds 30% Hero EXP and 30% Gold until December 31, 2026, and the welcome mail includes 60 Epic Penguins and 80 Epic Spirit Blooms. The Rank 70 reward adds Luna plus 15 Experienced Penguins.

Anniversary periods are similar. During the 8th anniversary, guide creator EPYRE noted that Penguins were being handed out in huge numbers, making it easy to level a Wyvern team quickly. Grace of Growth also temporarily boosts two heroes, which is useful for testing a hero before committing materials.

Which Heroes to 6-Star First

Start with the heroes that unlock farming, usually your Wyvern Hunt team: Furious, a tank, a support and a damage dealer. Their free missions often require promotion anyway; for example, Furious's Journey of Succession tasks ask you to promote him to 5 stars, reach level 50 and awaken him to 3 stars.

After that, 6-star heroes for the content you play most, such as Arena or Guild War defense. Check our tier list and builds guide before spending Epic Blooms on a new unit.

Awakening and Skills After 6 Stars

Promotion is only part of a finished hero. Awakening has six stages paid with runes and Gold, and each stage adds stats, so farm the matching Spirit Altar on the right day. The Foundry server's Starter Support doubles Spirit Altar rune drops until December 31, 2026.

Skill enhancement uses Molagora, the scarcest growth material. Spend it only on heroes you will use for a long time, and on the skills that matter most. Friendship with a hero also grows through battles and gifts, and reaching Friendship 10 gives 3 skill points.
