Epic Seven Hall of Trials: How It Works and How to Score High

Hall of Trials is a rotating Epic Seven PvE mode where you fight a featured boss alongside a boosted Trial Hero and score points from total damage dealt. Higher scores earn more Wisdom's Gaze. The December 18, 2025 update reworked the mode and removed the Hall of Trials Exchange, so older guides that mention it are out of date.

How Hall of Trials Works

Each rotation features one boss and a Trial Hero who gets a large stat boost and bonus scoring potential. You enter with the Book of Retribution, and your grade comes from points awarded for total damage dealt. Bosses and Trial Heroes change on a set rotation, and each boss has its own strengths and weaknesses.

The official notice lists Normal Mode and Challenge Mode. In this content, counterattacks and Dual Attacks are not triggered and Soul cannot be gained, so normal team habits do not always apply.

The December 2025 Rework

The December 18, 2025 update brought the biggest Hall of Trials change to date, starting with the Astromancer Elena cycle. Exhaustion phases became faster, and new resonance effects were added to reward burst damage windows.

The update also removed the Hall of Trials Exchange and moved exclusive equipment crafting into the Steel Workshop. If a guide tells you to spend currency in the Hall of Trials Exchange, it was written before this change.

Rewards

Your score determines how much Wisdom's Gaze you earn, so beginners should aim to clear for the best score they can once a week. Hideout Gacha lists a weekly SSS+ clear as the target. BlueStacks' guide also mentions exclusive artifacts for Trial Heroes and Imprint Concentrations as rewards.

Do not skip the mode just because your account is new. A reasonable score with an auto team still earns weekly currency, and it is quick to run.

Team Building Tips

Always check the week's Trial Hero first and build around them, even if they are not someone you normally use. Pair them with defense breakers, Combat Readiness pushers and single-target damage dealers that fit the boss's scoring conditions. Gear for Crit Chance, Crit Damage and Speed.

Creator Tristen Wulf notes that additional-damage effects scale poorly in Hall of Trials, which is why few players use Rage or Torrent sets there. Damage-dealt boosts also stack badly, so crit damage is usually the better investment. Auto-battle can forfeit some scoring bonuses, so manual play may be needed for top scores.

Example: Rampaging Astromancer Elena

For the Rampaging Astromancer Elena rotation from September 17 to October 7, 2026, creator Moriyaism ran an auto team of Haru, Elena, Charles and Yuna for a top 5% score. Haru, an HP scaler, was built for maximum HP plus Crit Damage, with Schuri, Dingo or Mercenary Helga as replacements. Charles needed about 18,000 HP and Speed to survive.

Tristen Wulf's high-score version used Tamarinne, Charles, Yuna and Haru. He placed Haru on the Imprint Circuit board to overcap Crit Damage, reaching up to 424% with the Frantic Flight artifact or 430% with Draco Plate. The Imprint Circuit's damage board raises the Crit Damage cap to 400% in PvE.

Fitting It Into Your Week

Hall of Trials is a weekly task, so run it once per rotation alongside the Abyss, Automaton Tower and guild missions. Seasonal battle content runs in three-week cycles. See our dailies checklist for the full routine.

Auto Teams Versus Manual Play

You do not need a perfect manual run every week. Moriyaism's Elena team reached the top 5% fully on auto, with Yuna simply using her first skill. Auto teams are a good weekly baseline.

For top 100 scores, creators play manually and tune exact stats. Tristen Wulf notes that you may need the rotation's newest hero, such as Haru for the Elena cycle, to reach the very top, because rotations are designed around recent releases.
